The Rum Diaries

So Johny Depp is a cool guy, but I have never been a fan of his movies, until now.
I am not going to go into details about the film except on one matter.
Finding our voice.
Your voice.
My voice.

What does that mean? How many times have you bitten your tongue rather than speak your mind? How manytimes have you spoken your mind with too much aggression, then felt disgusted with yourself afterwards?
Where is that moderate position? How do you speak your mind in a concise way that is not offensive yet clear?

It all goes back to you being true to yourself. Just say what you feel and if you know, why you feel it. Don’t let people try and disregard your feelings. You have a right to feel what you are feeling, even if the other person doesn’t agree with you. Sometimes people will still be offended but that is their problem, not yours.

This morning, I was not happy with my Wanker, and I told him in no uncertain terms that I was unhappy. He immediately tried to blow me off. I had to repeat myself three times before I got my point across in a way that he understood. That’s a Wanker for you.

Don’t let someone try and discredit how you are feeling. Your feelings are yours and you should never repress them. As I always say, live through them. Don’t let them fester inside you and eat away at your heart. Don’t be a slave to them. Life is too short.
