Do you ever have a light bulb moment where you wonder how you ended up where you are? Is that what constitutes a mid life crisis?
It really is a WHO AM I moment.
Who am I and how did I get here? Who brought me here?
Guess what? You got to the place you are all by yourself. If you are questioning where you are then that is a good place to be. You are open to self discovery and looking at who you really are.
Or who you were and who you want to be.
Rarely what we want in our twenties is the same thing we want in our forties, unless we never got what we wanted in the first place.
The whole “know thyself” is very true. If you never really knew yourself then chances are you ended up in a place that is completely baffling to you. Generally this happens when you follow other people and their dreams. You partners, parents, family, doing what you think is expected of you rather than what you want.
Because to do what you want means you need to know what you want.
If you don’t, then get started. Started listening to the little voice inside that is supposed to guide you and do not drown it out. Cultivate it.
Maybe you just need to slow down enough to hear it, a whisper, a fleeting thought that you didn’t quite catch but seemed perfect. If only it wasn’t so elusive.
Go find your dream and chase it.
